Press Release
New Bird Watching Web-Site for Julian Takes Flight
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Julian, California, - The Kenner Horse Ranch - August 18, 2006
Daniel Kenner, 10 year old son of Brian and Kathleen Kenner of the Kenner Horse Ranch, has started his own bird watching web-site focusing on the birds, habitat, and life-cycle of the local and migratory birds of Julian and the broader Southern California region.
"I like birds because there is such a variety of birds and unique things they can do. Bird photography gives me the chance to capture their unique colors, behaviors, and habitats." says Daniel. "The bird watching Web-site is cool because I get to share my pictures and experiences with people far away. I have already met new people, Rick Cambel of the Birdwatcher for example, that gave me great encouragement to take bird photographs. He said he thought one of my first photographs of a Red-winged Blackbird was very professional."
The web-site, www.julianbirdwatching.com http://www.julianbirdwatching.com/ is free to the public and contains low and high resolution images of Julian and Southern California birds. Daniel intends to document the location and circumstances of bird sightings across the region on satellite images saved on the web-site with links and pictures to help others see and experience what he has seen. In addition to Daniel's efforts around sighting and documentation, the web-site links to the Birdwatcher to support Rick Cambel and his on-line bird watching product sales efforts. An electronic bird-watching field journal has also been included to help other interested birders document and share there bird sighting successes.
Says Daniel, "I have even found that the town of Julian has great places to see and photograph birds. On the porch and within the rafters of Julian Properties business (main street), I was able to photograph several families of house sparrows. At that location, I had a chance to take photographs of the birds as they would come to and leave their nests. Another one of my favorite places is behind the birdwatcher. At this time of year, Rick's bird feeders attract Gold Finches, Hummingbirds, and White-Breasted Nuthatch's."
