Kathleen Kenner, goal achievement guide of the Goal Rush Riders, a self-guided group of leadership focused young horsemen and women in Julian, is hosting a celebration of the "National Day of the Horse" on the 206 acre Kenner Ranch located in Julian, CA on December 12, 2004.
The Day of the Horse is being observed in recognition of Senate Resolution 452, "encouraging the people of the United States to be mindful of the contribution of horses to the economy, history and character of the United States". This resolution recognizes the horse as a living link to our history, and is "a vital part of the collective experience of the United States."
Says Kathleen, "The holiday season is a wonderful time to celebrate the richness of our history with horses: they embody the spirit of earlier times and the importance of the season." Horses invoke our imaginings of yesteryear's sleigh rides, and family commitment. "Our genuine interactions with horses reinforce the social values and bonds that bring and hold us together as people." Just like our seasonal traditions!
The Kenner Ranch invites everyone to come to Julian California and the Kenner Ranch to experience for themselves the genuine spirit of the season. During this celebration, talented horsemen and women such as Sandra Thorpe of the Smoketree Ranch, Judy Taylor and the band Cajun Soul, Shirley Du Ermit of Julian Stables, and many others will integrate their passion for the horse and the excitement of the holiday season to produce a memorable family experience. Anyone with a fondness for horses or seeking a memorable seasonal family experience is invited to come to the Kenner Ranch on Sunday December 12 between 10am and 4pm.
